Dalton was a member of the Imperial Guardians working under General Deep Snow of Demon Card. He was known as Dalton the Chrysalis.
Appearance[]
Dalton is the shortest of the Imperial Guardians and is wears armor that resembles an insect. He is covered in a black bodysuit which features a metal chest plate. His head is covered by a metal mask that greatly resembles an insect. He has pair large, pincer-like gauntlets that are as large as his body. He also has a large pair of dragonfly wings on his back.
Personality[]
As a member of Demon Card, he is loyal to Deep Snow and follows his command without question, such as leaving to destroy the Rave Warriors rather than slaughter the mercenary group. Though a stealthy assassin, he is not above mocking his opponents like his fight with Haru, noting his futile attempts to break his cocoons and for being powerless without his weapon and friends.
Despite once being a soldier of the Empire, he admits that he does not believe in their ideals of justice and world peace. Like many Imperial soldiers with black hearts, he defected to Demon Card because he needed work. He appears to be a very cynical person as he states that world peace is nothing more than a myth and that war and evil will continue to exist even if Demon Card is destroyed.
Synopsis[]
Star Vestige arc[]
Dalton appears alongside his comrades as they prepare to after the Rave Warriors (who were weakened from exhaustion after fighting Jegan's dragon army). However, they were ambushed by the mercenary group Underground, who wanted to exact their revenge on Deep Snow. However, Dalton left under orders from Deep Snow to kill Haru while his allies proceeded to slaughter the mercenary group.
Catching the group off-guard, he proceeded to encase the Rave Warriors in his cocoon (along with the Ten Commandments Sword that was in Elie's hands) before proceeding to reveal himself to Haru.[1] He reveals that his friends will slowly suffocate to death within his cocoons and that they are as strong as steel, noticing Haru's futile attempt to break the cocoons. He engages him in battle, leaving Haru on the offensive as he struggles to evade him while trying to counterattack, proving futile as Dalton remains airborne. Dalton holds the advantage for most of the fight, mocking the Rave Master for being powerless without the rave stones, his sword, and friends.
However, he is caught off-guard when Haru ties a rock to his web, which creates a flail that wraps around him, allowing Haru to finally bring him down and punch him. Dalton attempts to call his attack pointless until being flabbergasted when he notices a large dent on his shell. Recalling first fight with Feber, Haru wonders how much stronger he has become before beating him into submission. Dalton's lower body is buried underground, leaving him humiliated as Haru frees his friends.
Bony identifies him as one of the Imperial Guards, the Empire's elite unit and wonders why is he working for Demon Card. Dalton reveals that after the Empire's destruction, half of the soldiers defected to Demon Card, revealing that not everyone who joined the army believed in world peace, but because they needed work. He calls Haru naïve for believing that Demon Card is the only source of evil in the world and that world peace is a myth, as war will continue even without the Rave Stones and Dark Brings. Before Haru can respond, Lazenby suddenly arrives to free Dalton and destroy the Rave Warriors. As he declares Haru for using the Rave Stone for spreading evil and chaos in the world, Dalton explains that Lazenby is even more naïve than Haru as Demon Card fed him false information to insure his allegiance, but also states that the remaining guards are stronger than him.[2]
As Haru and Musica struggle against Lazenby, Dalton shoots a web bullet at Haru's leg to prevent him to using Mel Force, He manages to free himself just as Deep Snow and his remaining comrades arrive, surrounding the group. Knowing they are not in any shape for a serious fight, Haru calls for a retreat and uses Million Suns to temporary blind the group. The Imperial Guards chase after the group, only to be intercepted by Shuda. Dalton takes to the sky and find the Rave Warriors, revealing his ultimate technique by using his cocoons to make army of himself. They prepare to advance on them, only to be encased in spheres by Shuda's Dark Bring, Balletteuse Flare. Dalton panics as he is unable to move before Shuda detonates the spheres, destroying Dalton and his clones.[3]
Powers and Abilities[]
As a member of the Imperial Guardians, Dalton was considered one of the Empire's strongest (albeit he was the weakest of the four) before defecting to Demon Card. Among the group, he is a stealthy fighter as shown with his ability to trap and suffocate unwary opponents in his silk cocoons without ever being spotted. He also has the ability to fly with his wings.
Cocoon Creation: Using his silk webbings, Dalton can encase his opponents in cocoons which are as strong as steel, making it difficult for them to escape.
Cocoon Bullet: With his webbings as strong as steel, Dalton can fire them at a rapid pace, piercing his opponents like bullets.
Cocoon Army: Dalton uses his webs to create multiple clones of himself. He describes this as his ultimate technique as each of his clones have the same combat abilities as him.
